These are the results of the June-July 2020 RYA selection process. 18 candidates were admitted out of the 23 who applied this year. The success rate was thus around 80 %.
17 candidates were accepted in the first instance and the 18th was accepted after his successful appeal.
Later on, one candidate declined the offer of membership due to his unexpectedly overloaded work schedule during the academic year 2020-2021. He will re-apply in 2021, when his work load diminishes.
Right now, there are thus 17 RYA members.
The selection committee, to be found below, was formed by reknown international academics.
After having received the two reviews for each applicant, we had panel discussions and, according to the selection criteria, the main reasons for which applicants were selected were these:
- expertise of the researcher
- academic merits of the research project
- feasability of the project in terms of the proposed civic action and policy input
We used the EC threshold of 6,5 for funding eligibility.
